How to plant & care for Aloe

WATER:

Aloe can handle drought well, but prefers to be watered regularly. Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again.

EXPOSURE:

Aloe loves to be placed in a sunny spot! It will grow best when getting 8-10 hours of sunlight each day!

PRUNING:

If the outer leaves of your plant get brown tips you can either cut off the affected area or prune the entire leaf altogether.

PROPAGATION:

Healthy Aloe plants will sprout more plants, or "pups", from its roots. Carefully take these "pups" out and repot in their own pot for additional plants.

FERTILIZER:

Aloe does not require a high soil fertilizer. Feeding once a year in the spring with a houseplant fertilizer should be sufficient.

Diseases often seen on Aloe

Aloe can experience root rot if the soil is kept too wet.
