Christmas Cactus require little watering. Water them about every 1-2 weeks and make sure the soil dries out in between waterings. Mist them a few times a week!
Christmas cactus prefer a bright and humid environment, out of direct sunlight. Once they start to bloom, keep them in the same spot so the buds don't drop.
Prune your Christmas Cactus by pinching off the necessary sections about one month after blooming. Do not prune your Christmas Cactus after late Spring.
You can propagate your Christmas Cactus by pinching off a healthy section of your plant and putting it into a new pot with organic nutrient dense soil.
Feed your Christmas Cactus a 20-20-20 soluble fertilizer that has been diluted with water to 50% strength. You will want to do this every month once you see new growth at the end of the Winter season.
The most common disease that occurs among Christmas Cactus is root rot. To avoid root rot, be sure to place your Christmas Cactus in well-draining soil and only mist a few times a week.
