How to plant & care for Dianthus

WATER:

Water thoroughly about once a week but make sure the soil dries out in between waterings.

EXPOSURE:

Dianthus will keep their beautiful blooms coming all Summer long if placed in a spot that get at least 6 hours of full sun each day.

PRUNING:

Deadhead spent flowers and prune in the fall.

PROPAGATION:

Take a 3 inch cutting from a bloomed flower and dip the tip of the stem into a rooting hormone. Plant it in potting soil and keep in the sun. Once there is new growth, transplant as desired.

FERTILIZER:

Using a balanced fertilizer every month and a half during growing season will help growth but isn't required.
