How to plant & care for Mum

WATER:

Mums like to be watered regularly. Make sure you give them a good drink whenever the top of the soil is dry, especially in the hotter months!

EXPOSURE:

Plant your chrysanthemums where they will get a lot of sunshine. Not only will they be happy in the sun, they will bloom to their fullest potential, making you happy too!

PRUNING:

If you really want to support your mums and help them grow back year after year, pruning them in the Spring will be super beneficial. Come Fall, you'll be happy you did!

PROPAGATION:

As an added bonus, chrysanthemums can be propagated in early Spring by dividing new growth or by planting the stems. Make sure you dip them in rooting hormone before you plant them.

FERTILIZER:

To get the most out of your mum, it would be helpful to use an all purpose fertilizer several times each year. They thrive with some added nutrients!

Diseases often seen on Mum

Look out for diseases like powedery mildew, gray mold, stunt, leaf spots and brown rust as they can all affect your mums.
