GROWTH: Clematis, also known as the queen of climbers, has a reputation for climbing. This beautiful perennial will climb up its surroundings until there is no more room. On average it will grow around 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide., but if it has room to grow higher, it most definitely will.
CARE: Plant clematis in a location with full sun but be sure to keep the roots cool and shaded. This can be done by adding mulch or a ground cover around the planting area. Water weekly and be sure to plant in well-draining soil and fertilize regularly.
FUN FACT: Clematis has been nicknamed "Old Mans Beard," because of its seeds resemblance to a long beard.
